grab text from a html document with php

I am going to make a php page that grabs some text contents from a shoutcast-dnas server page, I want to have variables that contains info on current dj, song, listeners etc, how would the code for this page look like?
I´ve looked on some of the documents on phpbuilder, but they dont work for me

Use fopen() to fetch the HTML file, and then scan it for the information you want using regular expressions. The user comments on php.net should help.

thanks, that seems to work.. but I have one problem.. When I enter the url for my shoutcastserver.. it ends with port 8000
Then I have to use something like
$fd= fread(fopen("http://my.server.com:8000/", "r"), 100000);
right?
but when I use the port 8000, php only gives me an error messange, what do I do about this?

Try

$fp = fsockopen("http://my.server.com",8000);

I pointed you to the wrong command. You can use fread and fwrite on $fp.
