MySql phpmyadmin question

ok I have PHP installed with an apache server on my WINxp machine. I need a easy to install MySql / PHPmyadmin installer...Where Do i get one???

I did that but the problem was that when i started up phpmyadmin in the localhost it kept giving me a Could not connect ot mysql database....

Is your MySQL server running? Did you put in the correct values for the Username and Password in PHPmyAdmin? What specific error, if any, does it give you when you get the "could not connect to MySQL Database" error?

When starting phpmyadmin i get this

Access denied for user: 'caschotc@localhost' (Using password: YES)

Now in php i did edit the config.inc.php file to include the username and password that is set in the winmysqladmin but it still says this?

nevermind i took out the username and password out of the config.inc.php in the php directory and it let me in via phpmyadmin......where do i specify the username or passwords though i have no clue
