another way of doing telnet

hi all,
I am trying to get into my router and do a sh ip bgp "user input" but the thing is php doesn't have a method to do a telnet..
I am wondering if anyone can advise me on is there any other way using php to get into the router? I have tried using the normal way like fsock...but it refuses my connection...
