Search form to look up mysql data

I am looking to have a page that will search a mysql database and return a row of information. The table is roughly as shown below:

[ Edit link ] [Ser no ] [ Field_1 ] [Field_2 ] [ Field_3 ]

Edit 0001 text text text
Edit 0002 text text text
Edit 0003 text text text

There is 500 + rows in the table and i need to extract a row by the ser no field. I am looking to have a search form with a submit button that will bring me the info.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well your problem seems simple enough...

You may start by looking at functions under www.php.net

You may find these useful
mysql_connect()
mysql_select_db()
mysql_query()
mysql_fetch_array()
mysql_fetch_object()

if you search the functions list for just mysql it will give you a listing of all available mysql functions
