Virtual Hosts?

I have tried setting up virtual hosts to use a domain that is registered and the DNS are not my computer.

The following is what I put for the virtual hosts

NameVirtualHost *

<VirtualHost *>
  ServerName [url]www.clan-ea.net[/url]
  ServerAlias clan-ea.net
  Redirect permanent / [url]http://www.clan-ea.net/[/url]
</VirtualHost>

<VirtualHost *>
  ServerName [url]www.clan-ea.net[/url]
  DocumentRoot /Apache/Apache/htdocs/
</VirtualHost>

Can someone tell me why this name won't come up. The browser just sits there for a minute or so refreshing itself over and over and over as if it's got nowhere to go. Thanks

i should also metion that the firs listed VHost is the site the server will goto if the site it is looking for can not be found

I don't know why in the world it would put links in there. I am not so dumb to think that they should be there after reading all kinds of documentation. Somehow I got it to work before you posted though. Thanks again
