Asp and PHP on the same site

I maintain a site based on asp and downloaded/installed php. After much pratting about I managed to get a php page to display. However, when I go to the PHP page from an ASP page it loads up fine but I am unable to return to the ASP page. I get the following error 500 usual stuff.

Firstly: Is it possible to flit between php and asp pages?
Second: If it is, is there something in the configeration of php that is being set when the first php page is called that prevents the subsequent loading of an asp page?

Yes, it's possible.

What you gotta do is check if this ASP page require some parameter to run. That would be my first idea.

To help more I need you to be more specific. This asp page is the index page? Is it called by another ASP? If it is check the if the href matches your PHP href.

i don't think there should be a problem running both php and asp on the same site.

Now if your are trying to run asp and php on the same file, then you'd have to change the configuration on your server in how to interpretate (?) the file extension. I've never tried this, but i would assume you could make .html, .php, *.asp files parse both ASP and PHP. No guarantees though.

Otherwise, just make sure you are pointing the forms/links to the right page with the correct extension.

I have created a new simple asp page and tryied moving from that to the php page and back again and it works. There must have been some requirement in the other asp page that I was originally using that was not present when returning from the php page causing it to fail.

One other question a friend has given me a Perl Developers Guide Book. will this be any use to help me learn PHP?
