I have been running PHP4 on Apache/Linux for over a year with no problems. However, my PHP started to go bad after running mod_perl at the backend. It does not display syntax errors and PHP libraries get corrupted.
My site went down with this message:
Warning: Failed opening '/var/www/html/index.php' for inclusion
(include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in Unknown on line 0
