Problem with Apache and PHP

Hello,

I have a problem and I am a bit lost.

Lately, the Apache Web Server doesn't work right. Sometimes, randomly, it fails. It responses with the "Not found" message. I've been analyzing the logs files and I've found messages like this one "[Thu Jan 9 14:29:03 2003] [notice] child pid 9063 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)". The error log file is full of this type of messages. I don't know if this is related to the problem but is the only interesting thing I could find. I'm using a SUSE 7.3 system with Apache Web Server 1.3.24 and PHP 4.1.2 installed.

I am experiencing the same thing, but the messages in the apache log USED to be segmentation faults, now they are bus errors (in my case).

I've been debugging the code forever only to find that the code really does not work at random, like in your case.

After looking on the web, I've found some other people who are having the same errors, but mostly with Solaris. Since you don't have Solaris (and neither do I - I use HP-UX), the problem is not OS related.

Sorry I didn't have the solution.
