Creating a new site

I've been charged with the task of migrating a website to a new and (hopefully) better enviroment.

Can you people give some hints?

I'm looking for a collection of scripts that meets theese requests:

• Freeware

• Intranet/Internet

• Web admin

• Language - Swedish or language module that makes it fairly easy to translate. (I don't want to dig through several hundred scripts to translate.)

• User groups

• Content control on user/group - level

• Only admin can add new users

• Easy to add external modules (for instance integration of Courier webmail into the intranet)

• Easy to add "home made" pages (HTML, PHP, ...)

• Easy to create page layouts (Frames, tables, menus, text, news, etc)

• Themes

Furthermore I need theese modules:

• Adresslist to members

• Mailing lists

• Webmail

• News/announcements, with the ability to comment

• Calender

• Sheduling

• File archive (upload/download)

• Image archive

• Forum (Optional)

I could help you with one of those. I have a suite of pages that allows the user to fill out a form, creating an account, and to log in after they've created the account (much like here on phpbuilder.com). You'd need to create a mysql database in the background.

Users can also log in and change their information. You can of course use phpMyAdmin to adminster the database.

I would appreciate a small subtitle at bottom of the pages for credit, that's all.

Thnx but I'm more in the market for a complete system.
I've looked a bit on Drupal, but I can't begin to figure out how to start configure...
I've looked a bit on Zope too, but it seems a bit overkill... 🙂

Sure I could start from scratch and use different code snippets (IE login, menuscripts and so forth), but it seems a bit unneccasary when there already excists a number of freeware portals out there. 🙂
