Good PHP books?

Hi-
I'm relativley new at PHP, but I've been going at it strong for about a month now. I recently setup mySQL on my IIS 5 workstation at work and have been working with connecting to a database that I setup. My company uses Oracle for the production DB.

I'm wondering what books any of you good PHP programmers use for both learning PHP and learning Databasing for web development. I've searched amazon, but would rather hear it from people on this board who do PHP/Databasing all day.

I have other programming language experience, so I'm not a total beginner and I pick this up quickly.

I haven't read a lot of PHP books, in fact just two, so I don't have much to compare to, but I liked

PHP and MySQL Web Development
By Luke Welling and Laura Thomson

Has lots of good PHP info and plenty on MySQL as well.

yes i recommend PHP and Mysql web development also Professional PHP4 its good for the things that arnt explained in php/mysql very well

I've been told by our inhouse SQL/Oracle guy that if I learn to use PHP with mySQL ... I should be able to work with Oracle just fine..is this true or should I pickup "Pro PHP4" and an oracle book?

By far the best PHP book I've ever come across, I found at my local library. I THINK it was called Practical Php, but Amazon.com didn't have a picture for me to confirm it. It had real examples of scripts like shopping carts, order forms, etc. Day-by-day, I use Core PHP Programming for a quick reference.

Check out "PHP Fast & Easy Web Development by Julie Meloni. It's very easy to follow and is a good PHP primer.

The first half of the book covers PHP basics and the second half is a good introduction to MySQL. She walks you thru an actual Contact Management System that you can create.

Great book to get you started in PHP and MySQL.
