PHP & Wait while proces is running Javascript

Hi all,

I'm building a site that sometimes takes a bit long to load. The reason for this is that the I have to search in a big database and sometimes this just takes a little bit longer than normal people would like it.

I guess a "waiting while getting requested data" message would make it allot easier for people to stay and wait.

Does anyone know how this can be done using javascript?

when you have a script which you know will take a while to run immediately put out a "please wait" page and have this page meta-refresh to recall the script with some flag to show that the "please wait" page has been displayed and now to do the work. This is probably better than using javascript.

Don't forget that on the first call you can store all the variables in a session so you don't have to build them into the url called by the meta-refresh.
