Accessing MS SQL server

Hi all:

To make a long story short:
I was promised php/mySQL by my ISP, but it turns out it's php/SQL.

I do know how to write simple scripts to access, create, manipulate MS SQL server, through some classes I took.

However, my question is how can I physically access the server?
I've heard ifI download sometype of agent from MS I can do it.

The ISP has been least helpful, and for the time being I'm stuch there 🙁 🙁

Do you have any ideas, suggestions, recommendations?

its almost exactly the same as mysql.

Goto the PHP Manual and read on mssql

Can't MS SQL be accessed through Enterprise Manager?

Is Enterprise Manager free?

Unfortunately it is not free. However, there is another method if you have MS Access.

I do have MS Access. What is that method?

Create an ODBC connection on your computer to connect to MS SQL, open Access, create a blank DB, go to File>Get External Data, from there you can either link to the table in MS SQL or you can download the table info. You'll have to play around with this, I don't have a lot of experience at it, but I know it is possible. Not sure how flexible it is.
