was wondering if it is possible to load all of the .jpg images in a certain directory...

ie...if i have a directory of 100 images, and i dont want to type out each filename..is there a script that will recognize all the files and add them to my sites page?

Im not too sure what you mean. Are you trying to upload files from a Browser FTP you made or is PHP suppose tp search through your server and see if there are jpg files.

i want php to:

given the directory, output a page that contains every image (jpg) in that directory.

so say i have the directory root/images/

and in the images directory there is four files:

img1.jpg
img2.jpg
img3.jpg
img4.jpg

i want php to figure out that those files exist in that directory.

youd need to use these things

opendir
readdir
while loop
fwrite - maybe
fopen - maybe
maybe move_uploaded_file to its new location.

Now i havent done this. But im pretty sure its possible. Just use the things i suggested.

How I got around this is to have it like::

image1.jpg
image2.jpg
image3.jpg

<?php
$maxnumber=3;
$i=1;
while($i<=$maxnumber)
{
echo"<img src='folder/pics/image'.'$i'.'.jpg'>";
$i++;
}
?>

All you would have to do is tell it the max number for it to display. Its an idea. Its not tested so it might be scripted wrong. You get the idea though.
