Problem with fgetcsv and single/double qoutes

Hi all I am doing a doanload of a datafeed file using fgetcsv.

the problem I am having is when I use

$fp = fopen ("diamond.csv","r");
while ($data = fgetcsv ($fp, 999900, ","))

to pull my data is any of the columns have an ' or " fgetcsv ignores it.

so any item in the Men's Watches category is ignored (which is over a quarter of the datafeed)

Also I do not have the option of asking the supplier of the feed to html encode everything.

is there a way around this.

Can we see some code? Because I tried this:

CSV file:

Field1,Men's watches,Field2
a,b,c
d,e,f
g,h,j

and this PHP file:

$fp = fopen ("test.csv","r");
while ($data = fgetcsv ($fp, 999900, ",")) {
  print implode(',', $data) . "\n";
}
?> 

and it worked fine...
