php random "page cannot be displayed" error

Hi, every one in about ten links I click on in a script I made results in a "page can not be displayed" error. I think this scenario is caused in my use of session cookies in PHP. Has anyone else had this error when using the cookie() function and not specifying a timeout for the cookie? I am on a suse 8.1 server with PHP 4 and Apache. All other pages on the same server that do not use cookies do not have this error, so I think this is being cause by the session cookies. Is there a fix to this?

not in this case because many people will be using the same computer one after another and in most cases they will forget to log out. Therefore I needed to use a session cookie so that when the person just closes the browser without logging out, the session and cookie both expire. There probably is a better design for the whole setup, but right now I'm stuck with using session cookies.
