preg

hey, i currently have the below code

preg_match_all("|href=\"http://\"?([^\"' >]+)|i", $contents, $arrayoflinks);

this picks out any urls that have [url]http://[/url] at the start. I would really like to do the opposite of this, pick out all of the url's that don't start with [url]http://[/url] like it would pick out the links below

lalal/ddssd.htm
dsddssd/sddss/dsd/dssd.php

but not

http://www.meow.com/lalal/ddssd.htm

I'm not that great with regex, but I think this would work

preg_match_all("|href=\"[^{[url]http://[/url]]\"?([\"'} >]+)|i", $contents, $arrayoflinks);

Does exactly what i wanted exept one thing, it seems to miss out the first letter of every file. I really can't work out why, any idea?. It doesn't do that if i use the old one from the first post.

Hi,

it's this part that makes it fail:

[^http://]

This matches one character that is not 'h' or 't' or 'p' or ':' or '/', thus stripping of one character of what you wanted to go into the next subpattern.

If you want to find relative links only, luckily PCRE have negative lookaheads that can do what [^http://] was supposed to do. This would be used something like this:

"|href=\"(?!http🙂([^\"' >]+)|i"

It's all trial and error for me...I just tried xblue's example and it worked as far as I could tell. Another part of the deal is that I think preg_match_all puts the results into a multidimensional array, so you need to do something like...$arrayoflinks=$arrayoflinks[0]; to get the right array.
