in pretty sure thats the code i need
i want to embed my navigation page so i dont have to edit any more than one page if i decide to add another page to my site.

i dont use frames or i frames so i would have to edit all my pages not just one to add a new page.

Do like martinperez said. That's the easiest way! I usually do something like this:

$inc[0] = 'file_1.php';
$inc[1] = 'file_2.php';
$inc[2] = 'file_3.php';
$inc[3] = 'file_4.php';

foreach($inc as $key => $file)
{
  include('includes/'.$file);
}
