Creating thumbnail from URL

Is there any way to create a thumbnail of web sites by providing the respective URL of the sites.I want to supply a text box in which the URL will be typed and the thumbnail of the website should be created.

The quick answer is no...

You can only create a thumbnail from an image file and most websites are a combination of HTML, text and images. It would be possible if people supplied you with a screenshot of the site but not directly from the URL

Having said that, if anyone else can do it then let me know as it sounds like a cool idea 😃

I was just thinking of the same thing, if anyone knows or has a script that takes screenshots of a website let us know.
