i'm developing a site that uses a MySQL database in one computer at work but sometimes i want to work in it at home, i bring the whole site to home but i don't know how to bring the database,

where is my database and what files do i have to copy to a cd to bring home?

another question, how to transfer it to my hosting server?

Utility to dump a database or a collection of database for backup or for transferring the data to another SQL server (not necessarily a MySQL server). The dump will contain SQL statements to create the table and/or populate the table.

if you have full access to both there will be a mysql folder somewhere, depending on where it was installed, you can then go into the data folder, where then the named folder you will recognize are actually the databases you have setup

i've seen this folder, so by database is the folder with the database name that i see in this folder and that has 3 files with strange extensions for each table?

i tried twice to copy it's content and it just gives me and error thar it can't be copied 'cause its being used by another program.
