php version emulator

Hi!

I have a PostNuke site... [It's an open source cms, using mysql+php... ]

The problem is that my host upgrades the php version all the time & 'forcing' me to upgrade the PostNuke version...

My question is: is there a php emulator that I can run on the server that will emulate a specific php version???

[ok... it's a bit stupid... but It's not a dedicated server... I don't have $$$ for dedicated server! so an emulator is the easy answer for my problem...]

Why would a PHP upgrade force you to upgrade PostNuke? In general, most changes between versions of PHP (apart from major releases) are backwards compatible aren't they?

With every php upgrade 2-3 site features are screwed!

I'm getting new warnings... parse errors,etc...
