where to learn?

What is the best place(free websites,books, chats, etc...) to learn PHP and MYSQL for a beginner with programming. What can teach me everything I need to learn PHP from the very beginning. I do not kno anything about programming. Please help me!

Im new to it too, I just ordered a book, PHP and MySQL for Dummies. Once I read it I will tell you if I am still confused 🙂

The best place to learn is the internet. Just go to google.com and search for "php basics tutorial". For more specific tutorial again just search e.g. "php tutorial email" also check out the website for a list of tutorials, programs etc...http://www.hotscripts.com

One thing I would suggest is to download the PHP Manual from

http://www.php.net/download-docs.php

If you are a windows user, I suggest getting the "extended chm" version. It has user comments. Excellant resource, and how I primarily learned PHP.

Thats relieving to hear, I am very interested in learning to program PHP, I have past experience in ASP, but I gave that up once I found out PHP was easier to lern. Can I e-mail you or do you have a MSN Messager so we can chat? Thanks alot

Also, php.net the official PHP page is a good place for more info. I find the manual handy too 🙂 it's downbloadable...get the .chm version!
