Need help searching

I have a question...

I know in frontpage, you have the ability to insert a search form that will search an entire web directory...

I was wondering if php could search an entire web directory...

I need to make a form that allows for multiple parameters such as:

search by city, state, zip, how many bedrooms, how many baths, price range of a house, what type of property, and so on.

If you haven't guessed im "trying" to make a house search engine.

I have my php code that creates user names, passwords and an html file containg their info city, state, zip ect.

how can i search my entire web for these options...
I know a mysql database would probably be esier but i don't know anything about it.

Can someone point me in the right direction by the way im doing it or give me examples of mysql code that would do what i need to do?

I don't even know how to create a mysql database let alone store info in it or search it and display my results!!

In your php file that you call from the form:

$res="Select from tablename where city='$city' and state='$state' and zip='$zip' and bedrooms='$bedrooms' ";

$result=mysql_query($res);
while($r=mysql_fetch_array($result))
{

//display results here
}

If you don't know anything about php at all, I suggest you hire someone to do it for like $50.

I don't want to hire somenoe to do this for me... that would take away the fun of learning this. Im a c++ programmer and im picking up on php really fast.

where can i go to get some basic, easy to understand tutorials on mysql...

something like my first mysql database and build from there?
