IIS, xp pro and permission

i'm using php with win xp pro and IIS 5.1, and it wont let me create directories using php. I've selected write and execute permissions for the folder that i want to create new folders in, but it still denies me permission.

It will however let me add directories to anywhere else onthe system, providing that it's not in IIS (and therefore not accessible through the intranet) - handy.

I've tried chmod-ding, i've tried chown-ing, and i'm getting nowhere with those. Is there something in an ini file i should be changing?

It's all local access, so i'm not bothered about security. Any help would be very very welcome!

You could try checking in the .ini file to make sure safe mode if off. I think it is by default, and I'm not sure if that would help... I mostly wanted to say hi. 😃

Yeah safe mode is off - i just cant figure it out. I've tried to give the directory's as much permission to do stuff as possible, but still no joy. It's made even more frustrating that it can make directory's all over the place, except where i can get to them through the web!

Is it possible i've set up a user wrong, or not given permission to something that needs it to create directory's? This is really starting to do my head in...

To tell you the truth, I'm as stumped as you are. It seems very odd to me that you can make directories all over the place, except in you web. Why don't you try posting the code you are using to make you directories? Maybe it'd help...

How did you chmod and chown on Windows??? It doesn't support those. You could be having problems with the IUSR, or whichever user you are running php/iis as, not having the proper rights on the inetpub directory. That has been posted about a few times on here, I can't remember where or what the fixes were, so try searching for it.
