I've looked at XTemplate and I might be able to use it for this but I need something to use for basic mail merge. I was wondering if folks had any experience in using template engines like this.
ie. instead of the response going to the browser doing something else with it. like taking the "merged" string and putting it in an email message.
Is anybody aware of an English version of this excellent document?

This looks to be a cracking go and documenting XTemplate but sadly it's in French.
