mail() is working great for me on my php 4.3, Apache 2.0.43, mySQL 4.0.1 Win 2K Pro system, and I can customize all the headers EXCEPT one, and it is annoying the heck out of me.
I can't set the Return-Path using my ISP's SMTP server. I have called my ISP (XO - Concentric) about this and they say it is a security measure on their part. Conclusion: I should have an SMTP server on my Win 2K Pro box to bypass my ISP. I'm petrified.
Could someone please comment on how to go about this (I've been reading for several hours on the internet and not finding any good tutorials). In particular, I have read that if I select Control Panel/Add Remove Programs/Add Remove Windows Components/IIS/Details/SMTP Server, then this will Install IIS. Will my current domains served by Apache go belly up? Will I have conniption fits? What will happen? Or should I go for ArGoSoft.com? Or what about FoxMail? Any advice or pointers to tutorials is welcome.
Thanks,
