not the localhost

If my sql server is located elsewhere from my web pages in my

$db = mysql_connect

what do I put if its not localhost?

the address of my sql databse is

sql-01.portlandpremuium.co.uk apparently, is this all I need to put in, do I not need to identify the server in some way?

I have 2 databases on different servers

One I can only connect to using localhost, the other I can connect to from anywhere using the IP address

Have you tried simply replacing localhost with

sql-01.portlandpremuium.co.uk
