Compilation feature for php

Hello,
As ASP.NET provides compilation of source code,it provides making code usable for commercial purposes and provides faster run times for the code as well.
So,haven't the time for compilation support for php come ?
I have heard about something about it,but noone does make sure about it. Is there anyone knowing that folks developing php are thinking about something like compilation for php ?
Or is it useless at all ?

Well,a few reasons..
1- First of all,commercial purposes. I don't wanna any intruder run into my code after I developed it and sell the code as if the code is his/hers
2- Compiled code runs faster than uncompiled code.

2- php is scripting language...

Is there a rule that scripting languages are not to be improved to better ??

oohh, for example: linux 🙂 , redhat, mandrake, etc.

For large projects open source doesn't seem to a big problem for commercial purposes even though we don't know whether anyone has produced a new OS from linux codes and sold it.

We estimate it didn't happen cos if it had happened ,we would have heard about a new OS running similar to linux and we would have suspected.. So noone dare such a thing I think..

On the other hand project written in php aren't that well-known. So if you write some code in Turkey, anyone in America can reuse it for own purposes and it is impossible you hear about it unless it becase a famous software..

If ASP.NET was a solution for me,I would not stand here and discuss with an annoying guy for php compilation feature...

I really do want use php and do wish that feature be provided sometime..

Are you here just to object to anything ?

If you had read my first message carefully,you would have understood that I only ask for a new feature for php what will move it to better in my opinion.

I have been using ZEND for a year now, now only does it compile in optimization but encrypts data and eliminated itraspection (meaning somone cannot replace a file).

It is a little pricey, but worth it.
