Un defined variable error

Hi all
I m a beginner in PHP. I m using Apache webserver with php4.
I m using a form which has text field.
In my php page i m trying to display the input field i have given in the text field. But i m getting the error

Undefined variable: Author in c:\program files\apache group\apache\htdocs\php\text.php on line 8

what will be the error?

Can you please post some of your code? Remember, PHP is server-side, you can't use a variable from a form on the same page as the form. You can only use it after the form has been submitted.
