getting form information from another window

Hi guys,

I would really appreciate it if someone can help. Say I have a form of 5 questions. Each question has 4 radio buttons as answer choices with the values: part_agree, full_agree, part_disagree, full_disagree. Now if the user clicks on either part_disagree or full_disagree then a new window opens up with a textarea. The value of that textarea is inserted back into the original form so when the form is submitted, all that information is entered into a database. My problem is that how do I specify what question the user clicked on and thus store that response for that particular question.
For example:
Say the user clicks on part_disagree for question 2; how do I specify in the pop-up window that this answer corresponds with question 2 on the original form? I have something down but I can't get it to work for more than 1 question.

Mmm...wouldn't Invisible form elements (contianing the choice) passed to the new window also work?

i got it...it was a matter of passing a variable into the new window and then calling that variable in the original form

thanks anyway though

is there a way, when entering into a database, to set a set of variables equal to 'N/A' if they are originally empty? because if i submit that to the database, hte query is not carried out because of empty fields

setup up your database fields to accept NULL values, not NOT NULL values
