Can somebody help me out with this

I want to convert all the urls in my string to hyperlinks, with some help I use this:

$body = preg_replace("~(([url]ftp://[/url])|([url]http://[/url])|(www))[^]]*~", "<a href=\"\0\" target=\"_blank\">\0</a>",$body);

But this reg exp does not find the ending of the URL so it includes the text after the url, like:

Here is som text you can click this link <a href="http://www.digi.no more text after the URLf" target="_blank">http://www.digi.no more text after the URL</a>

can anyone help, please

could you edit your post, deleting the url tags within the regex and disable "Automatically parse URLs"?

Also, the PHP formatting tend to drop backslashes (which is by no way your fault), and I think the code tags don't, so it might be better to use them instead.

Hi, as far as I can see a you define that anything that is not a closing square bracket should belong to the url.

You could use whitespace to detect the end instead:
"~(ftp://|http://|www)\S*~"

\S = non-whitespace characters

Also some of the parenthesis are not needed.
