Multiple Pages

I have a search script, and it displays the information just fine, but if I wish to give the user a choice of how many records to display, and links on the bottom saying page: 1 2 3 4 5, how would that be accomplished.

ie. 20 records to show

1......20

page: 1 is 1-20
page: 2 is 21-40
page: 3 is 41-45

if there is 45 records in the table

if anybody has any thoughts, I would be much obliged

I can honestly say that I have never messed around with a class in php. How would I incorporate this into my search script. How is it called?
