form and drop down

Hi all,
i'm kinda new here
and i have a question wich i got problems with

i want to create a drop down menu in a form, the drop down has to show a list of Suppliers out of a mysql table1

when i submit it, it has to save the corresponding id (of that name) into table2

but actually don't know how to create this code for both things 🙁, any help?
