We're running win2k and IIS with isapi module. It seems that running php crashes the server or the other way around. "it seems" because any HTML pages appear as normal even though PHP is not running. And the server stops.
Looking through the logs it seems that the access violation doesn't always appear. In fact it is extremely rare that it appears - maybe one in 25 crash situations...
I have searched through the bugs.php.net and here's a thread that we can relate to:

It is suggested to install the latest snapshot, but browsing through the threads about IIS and PHP problems it seems not working.
I quess our main problem is that we can't figure out what causes the server to crash. Is it a script or is it a confiq setting between IIS and PHP.
Does this sound familiar to anybody - what might be causing this?
Any notes or recommendations are very much appreciated!
