Windows Authentication

Hi folks,

I'm wondering if I can borrow some of your expertise here ...

I'm giving a hand in building an intranet site for an organisation running Windows 2000 machines, and we've decided to build it in PHP because of it's ease of use and flexibility.

I've seen other systems built in ASP.NET which logs the user in using their windows username, and am wondering if it is possible to do this in PHP.

EDITED TO INCLUDE: It is not only necessary for access to be granted, I need the username available as a variable

Don't worry about it. Some kind soul in the office has done this before.

Unchecked the anonymous access tickbox in IIS, check the integrated windows authentication tickbox and the variable is available, $AUTH_USER.

It is preceeded by the Domain but easily extractable.

Thought I'd post it here, since I brought it up in the first instance.

I tried it first with ASP.NET after I
