Hi There,
Got a big 1 million record table (auto parts), AND it has 60 columns, and I'm trying to normalize it.
Many of the products are redundant except for the year.
The English equivalent of what I'm trying to do is say, "Give me a count of groups that are completely identical EXCEPT FOR the year."
I could use GROUP BY field1, field2, field3, etc., naming every field except for the year and the primary key, and that would do it but on a 1,000,000 x 60 matrix this seems pretty clumsy.
Any other (read that better) ways to do this?
Thanks in advance,
Sam Fullman
