changing MySQL values

well I know this is going to be really easy but i just can't figer it out, ok i'm making a small game and say they have 100 points stored in the database, how can i make it so when they get 50 more points it addes that to the 100 in the database?

It's as simple as it can get...

$result = mysql_query("update table set points=points+50");

wouldn't that make it update evryone's points? it just needs to update that users points...

would this be right?

UPDATE users SET points=points+50 WHERE username='.$_SESSION['username'].';

Parse error? Try this

$query = mysql_query("UPDATE users SET points='points+50' WHERE username='" . $_SESSION['username'] . "'") or die(mysql_error());

Are you sure the error isn't a few lines before this? Post like 15 lines of your code before your query, and include your query also so I can take a look.

i've got it so if there loged in it does that be doing a requare thing, just testing to get it to work, that way i know that's what's wrong....
