Linux booting

I know this is not the place, but in some way it does relate back to my scripting.

I have recenlty bought a AMD Duron Box. All works fine with a Microsoft Operating sytem.

I tried to load Red Hat 8 the other day, installation all went fine. As soon as I boot it up after the installation .....bang..... something about it cant load some memory block into the buffer.

Anyone else have a problem like this before? Maybe with 7.2 or 7.3 or even the more recent ver 8?

I reverted back to XP, untill I could find a solution. (though it would be a quick solution)

Its a

AMD 1.1
128 ram DDR
20 gig drive
onboard graphics - prosavage

nothing special, just a dev/testing server

I would have to re-install to get that error out again....but I will keep you posted..

Is there anyone else out there that has had a problem like this recently?

It's going to be difficult to diagnose the problem without the exact error messages.
