Templating

Hi,

I am looking to be able to use templates in my site and I really want to build my own template engine, so basically I can get don 'n dirty with coding. I am newish to PHP and have basic knowledge, my question is, are there any resources, tutorials, or helpful material I could use (Yes, I have read PHPBuilders tutorials). Also what advice can you give me on creating a template system?

You could get Sams Teach Yourself PHP in 24 Hours that has an entire section on template engines. That could be a start.
