I use JBuilder for my Java coding and I'm looking for something similar to use for PHP. What do you guys use?
check out Source Edit. It's free & it rocks!
I use PHP Coder which is also completely free of charge. IDE (Integrated Development Environment) especially developed for PHP programmers with PHP Interpreter, documentation, and Full Syntax Highlighting.
if u dont mind paying for it, Macromedia's Dreamweaver MX is way cool! Supports PHP syntax highlighting, WYSiWYG html egenration, site control, and many more. There's a downloadable version available at www.macromedia.com for 30 days for u to evaluate it.
However, I'm not a fan of WYSIWYG editors. They're good for making sites look good, but I pay attention to my coding so that it ios standards-compliant. Source Edit does all the higliting & sorting for free.
Oh, you have to be kidding. You mean we don't have any other fans of good ol' Notepad here?
search is my friend.....so many chunky threads have been started with this topic
This is also free if you download it from Kaazaa (Macromedia must have some kind of deal with them or something). The best part is it helps with your code. So if you tyoe a function it tells you what variables you can use!
I like to use ConTEXT. It's free, provides syntax highlighting for many languages. On the fly develpment is done with Vi though since the server is a linux box that I only have remote access to.
using notepad also
Cgraz

Nah, Macromedia doesn't have a deal with KaZaA; it's just illegal lol :p 😉
