What is the best book for someone wanting to pick up these three technologies?

not sure...McGraw/Hill has some good ones. You do realize that PHP isn't stable on Apache2, right?

I would recommend searching on amazon and going by reviews which appeal to you.

I refer to Professional Apache by Peter Wainwright from time to time, though I must say apache is extremely simple even in the most complicated environments. Try and see if you can get by with on-line documentation (terrific manual) and support forums.

MySQL by Paul Dubois is absolutely fantastic. Heartly recommended.

Professional PHP Programming is a great book to start off with.

offtopic, but tshafer, you do realize your mysql info is available to anyone? I won't put your info here, but avoid .inc files for scripts containing passwords. use .php extensions.

Most of the books that I have read are a mysql and php combo, with the a appendix dedicated to the apache server.

Most of us will never really need the full spec that apache offers, so if you new to the game.....concentrate on the mysql and php and the rest will follow.

I read a nice book a year ago or so call PHP - MySql web development....by luke welling (sams publication). It has some nice real world examples.......other the best place would right here at PHPBuilder.

It's been a while, didn't even see you asked that question. I think it was one of your other posts that had a link and I came across a .inc file, functions.inc or something (maybe?) and it had all your info right in there.

personally i use PHP and MySQL web development by luke welling and laura thompson (ISBN 0-672-31784-2).

Many, many, many of the questions asked on here can be easily solved looking through it! It's well written, has sensible examples, and is good on theory too. Gets my seal of approval.
