Is there any limit of how many characters/bytes I can send using GET???

Often I have problems with:

submiting textarea fields using GET.

It will not subit at all.

have tried to paste large text in the url, and found out that there is a limit (Windows Explorer 6)

Have not tried other systems, but is this an error on my systems or have anyone out there the same probelem.

Try using post.
$_GET i think does have some kinda limit because of the address bar

usually 255 although your mileage may vary. you can test it and that's probably best.

GET is really gross for long stuff because it's a URL.

I am trying to pass my string to an HTML inline frame.
But it fails when the string is over ca. 1000 chars or so.

solutions?

Use POST method or write the information into a database and then read it in the frame. Or couldn't you store the info in a session and then it's available to any page on the site for a fixed number of minutes?

I've just tried myself
I sent 1.000.000 characters (~1Mo) and you won't believe it, it works fine !
With 2.000.000 characters the navigator (IE5) displays an error
