db values to an array

I am pulling two fields (filename, file_size) from a database. I want to take the records and add them to an array. filename as the key and file_size as the value.

I was able to get this to work but I cant get the value part to the array. How do I achieve this?

while ($r = mysql_fetch_array($result))
{
   $data[]=$r['filename'];
}

while ($r = mysql_fetch_array($result))
{
   $data = array($r['filename']=>$r[file_size']);
}

thank you for your response. I actually tried what you suggested prior to my origianl post. the results of

[PHP
foreach ($data as $key => $value){

echo $key . "=" . $value;

}
[/code]

only brings back the last recordset.

Im not sure what I am doing wrong?
