second php running on single server

is it possible to run a higher version of php on the same server?
i need to install a second version of php only for a single user on that server. Is it possible?
if it is, could someone help explain the process??

why dont u just upgrade your current version?

it's not my system...
and i don't know of any functions or libraries or extenstions that would help. I only need to go from 4.0.6 to 4.1+!!!
The whole reason is because i bought a WYSIWIG editor that runs on 4.1+ but not 4.0.6 which i have 🙁 !!!

he is willing if his tech support is willing to upgrade for no cost. but i can't depend on that.

i can install it on my machine. my machine runs 4.2 and it works fine on my machine. but how can i use the script and make it save the changes to his machine???

You can install php as a single user.
All you have to do is make sure every php script points to YOUR version of php not the webserver.
It should also point to the correct php.ini.

#!/home/usr/php
etc...
