Good Day everybody,
I was hoping someone with their infinite wisdom could lend me a hand here.
We're making the move from cold fusion over to PHP, and I'm really the only person who's done PHP work around here so I'm on my own. Anyways The LDAP is all that is holding me back really.
We have an LDAP server here that I didn't set up, but I do know that in order to authenticate I need to send the username/pasword pair over an SSL/TLS connection.
I can bind annonymously connecting to ldap://host and do a search. But when I try to bind via ldaps://host I get "Can't Contact Ldap Server" when I try to bind.
I'm using OpenSA for the web-server (Apache 1.3.27 & OpenSSL & php 4.3), on a Windows 2K machine. I've read on some boards that in order to get PHP to authenticate to LDAP over SSL, you need to recompile PHP with the -open_ssl tag. Is this true? Has anyone else done this on a windows machine? I have the appropriate compiler (VS6). I just don't want to go through the headache of compiling all this stuff for windows unless I really have to, because that is a pain sometimes (I guess it's time to convince the boss we're switching to Linux 🙂 )
Thanks,
-John
