IP Authentication

Hi there,

Is it a viable option to restrict users based on their ip domain. EG
???.???

Would this restrict anyu one not within this domain?

I require large number of people on networks to access different material. It would make sense to auth by network??

Any comments appreciated!!

you can use the $REMOTE_ADDR variable to get the IP of the client in its numeric format

then you can use the gethostbyaddr() to convert the IP from its numeric format to its DNS format 🙂
