ok what i want to do is make it so it only displays a certain about of words in a feild. something like where it would like just cut it off in mid-sentence. ex: "Today i was doing lots of diffrent thing, i did..." so you click a link to view the whole thing. you get what im saying.

this is incredibly inspecific but try the substr() function.

well you just mentioned field, so i figured you were pulling the info out of a database, but ayways, pull the info out of the database (or wherever), but get it into a variable, then echo using the substr() function. Post back if you run into any problems.
