Help! Dynamic Link to picture how?

I have a page with data that's static...
but there's a picture in it that changes with the link that it came from...

e.g.

If from link001
Display 001.jpg in master.php
If from link002
Display 002.jpg in master.php

How do i detect which link the user click...
then passing that variable down to the master.php...so that it will display the coreesponding picture??

If I understand rightly then all you need to do is pass the variable along the URL string.

For instance on one page you may have the link as showpage.php?pic=002 and on another it may be showpage.php?pic=003

The value that you assign to "pic" is then available as $pic in the target page. So in showpage.php you could have:

echo '<img src="/images/'.$pic.'.jpg">';

You could also do it by detecting the referrer I suppose, but this seems easier.

finally got it to work after some adjustments

page 001.php

<A href="page003.php?imageid=001">click for image 1</a><br>
<A href="page003.php?imageid=002">click for image 2</a><br>
<A href="page003.php">click for image 3</a>

page003.php

<?php
  $image = $_GET[imageid];

// test to see if image id is pass
if (isset($image)) {
    echo "<IMG SRC= \"./$image.jpg\">";
  }
else  {
    echo "no image specified.";
  }

?>
