password quality

Dear,
is there any way to check the quality of a password the user choosed (typed in)?
I want to print a warning if its based on a normal word but no warning if it's cryptical, even when there are only characters in it.

I hope you understood what I mean... g

Then run it through a dictionary. You take a list of words, a big list, and then you check to see if the password exists in that list if it does give a warning.

Or an even better idea would be to check to see if it is alpha-numric.

if it has a number in it then it will not be a word 😉
