Why are the HTTP headers being displayed?

I have a script that is not working quite right.

In a certain circumstance, the script is outputting the HTTP headers (eg. "HTTP/1.1 200 OK ...") before the actual HTML is displayed.

I can't see why this is happening, but suspect it is because something is wrongly being output too soon (I did notice that there is a '0' before the 'HTTP/1.1 200 OK' response).

Does anyone know the reason for the headers being output?

Changing the hyperlink from <a href=../../index.php> to <a href="../../index.php"> fixed the problem.
