Problems with arguments in url

Today I got a strange problem; when passing a variable from one page to another in a url, I loose the variable!

If I on page1.php have this link: <a href='page2.php?name=test'>, the $name will become empty on page2.php!

This has NEVER occured before.

Is this a PHP-config-problem (installed version 4.3.0 yesterday), or a Apache-problem???

It is probably a problem with your global variables. At the beginning of the page, try setting $name = $_GET['name']; For literature on this switch, go to the following URL:

http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.variables.predefined.php

and view the warning in the box near the top of the page.

Solution:

register_globals in the php.ini-file was turned off... 😃
